The Witch
The Witch Small
Size(LWH): 4cm x 5cm x 8 cm
Very slowly and alert, the witch was eating her prey. On her knees, she was using her sharp teeth to tear the meat of a not fully dead yet deer-like lizard. But she was not alone. Two hunters from a village nearby were tracking down the animal to feed their wives and children. The witch got to it first but there was still plenty of meat left to fight over for. The two men were standing a few meters away, aiming her with their rustic bow and arrow. She was staring back with her irisless eyes, soaked in blood and eating slowly.

A sudden vision took her away from the moment for a second. One of the hunters noticed her distraction and released his arrow. She came to her senses with enough time to jump back unharmed. The other hunter was still aiming at her. She picked her staff from the floor. On top of her staff there was a human skull with tentacles coming out of it and a figure on the top: A man with an octopus head and dragon wings.

From beneath the earth below her feet, black roots broke the floor’s surface and crawled up her feet and legs.

-“Those who are going to open the crimson gate have arrived” she said with an anxious smile. The hunters looked at each other with horror.

-”Blasphemy. -one of them vociferated- The crimson gate cannot be opened. Eterious himself sealed it aeons ago.”

The seemingly dead tentacles in her staff started moving and as she continued to speak, her female voice turned into a cacophony of deep guttural grunts.

-“They have arrived, those who will open the crimson gates. The stars will be right soon”

The hunters started trembling as her wicked laughter echoed through the rocky formations of the dry valley they were at. Their bows fell to the floor and they ran to their wives and children leaving the meat behind.
